If you missed Keith Olbermann's show last night, the conservationist John Wathen was a featured guest. He has been flying over the Gulf of Mexico shooting videos that show more effectively than anything I've seen, the extent of and devastation from, the oil spill. It was so sad, I couldn't bear to import the video directly onto this page, but go here if you're up to watching ... we've done a terrible thing to our beautiful waters and the innocent creatures who live there. Dolphins are some of the most lovable of those creatures - they smile, they laugh, and they seem to be filled with eternal exuberance. I don't think they are laughing much these days.Let's just hope for an end to this misery and an end to the dominance of the oil industry over our government and the best interests of the planet ... soon, soon.

No one has left a comment because we are sobbing crying in front of our screens.
I was in college when the Santa Barbara Spill happened. We all left school and they let us.....and we cleaned pelicans and seagulls.....and seals.....and sea lions and we maybe saved 10%. .
It kills me inside. I never thought it would happen again!

I watch him most nights, and Maddox. It makes me sick they are just wasting all this important time. We have idiots in Washington they should fire them. Better yet take away their benifits and outrages pay for doing nothing.

Penny & Yvonne - I'm going to get political here, which I don't usually do, but I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone can be indifferent to the suffering of animals dying in our oil spills and - for that matter - people waiting for unemployment checks that won't be coming. The Republicans in Congress have totally lost their moral compass.
