Outdoor Living Rooms

Ruthie Sommers' cabana design for Coastal Living, May/06 uses outdoor fabrics from
Sea Cloth. Cabana/tea house by Tony's T House.

The trend in outdoor living: furnish your patio just like a living room!
Now you can find outdoor furniture that looks like it belongs inside,
with plush cushions and upholstered seating. And fabrics made to withstand the elements go way beyond the typical solids and stripes of just a couple of years ago.

Photo by Chuck Baker, from "The Outdoor Living Room" by Martha Baker.

The Silk Trading Company, a great online resource for curtains and fabric, has just announced their new outdoor line; Designer's Guild has some pretty options; and Lulu DK has come out with a great selection of trendy patterns. Lewis & Sharon Textile Co. in Atlanta (via Style Court), also carries a wide range of prints, as well as trims (including fringe and bullion)!

Some of our favorites, clockwise from left: Designer's Guild (aqua stripe), Lulu DK (brown stripe), Lewis & Sharon (toile), Lulu DK (diamond weave), Lewis & Sharon (red coral), Lulu DK (blue coral), Lewis & Sharon (butterflies and flowers), Lewis & Sharon (leopard).
